Mr. Michael Tang serves as the Chairman of Tang Industries (TII) and Chief Executive Officer of National Material L.P. (NMLP). Both are holding companies involved in metals manufacturing, processing and distribution for numerous sectors in the durable goods space including automotive, aerospace, defense and agriculture industries. In addition, TII is in the pharmaceutical, biotech and renewable energy businesses. TII and NMLP’s have over 40 operating facilities located in the United States, Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom and China. Prior to joining TII, he practiced law in Arizona and for the Navajo Tribe.
He is currently a board member of RAND’s Center for Asia Pacific Policy, the University of Chicago Medical Center, the National Defense University in Washington, DC and Big Green. He also serves on the governing body of the Ditchley Foundation in the United Kingdom. Previously, he has served on the board of The Field Museum in Chicago and numerous other non-profit boards. He was instrumental in establishing the Tang Chair in China Policy Studies at The Rand Corporation and the Michale Tang Regional Center for Clinical Simulation program at Touro University in Las Vegas.
Mr. Tang received his Bachelor of Arts in economics from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia and his Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C
